Pennsylvania Birch
Milled from the Yellow and Black Birch that is native to Central Pennsylvania. Birch's sapwood ranges in color from creamy yellow to white with a pinkish hue. The heartwood ranges from light reddish brown to dark brown in color, similiar in coloring to American cherry. Birch is a closed grained wood with uniform texture. Occasional curly or wavy figure is found in some planks give depth to the grain. Planks can vary greatly in color. Hardness/Janka: 1260. 2% softer than Red Oak.
