How do I clean my
hardwood floor?
|
|
Most people install a polyurethane hardwood
floor. These floors are easy to clean and
maintain as long as you follow a few simple
steps. First of all you will want to use a
vacuum or broom to get rid of grit and dust.
Make sure to use a vacuum with a floor
attachment or an upright vacuum with a
hardwood floor setting.
A vacuum
with a beater bar could harm your floors.
You may then want to use a dry untreated
dust mop. These mops are fine for wood
floors as long as you do not use a dusting
agent with them. Dusting agents can make
floors dangerously slippery and could harm
your floors finish. For tough spots you can
use a spray or squirt product designed
specifically for hardwood floors. These
products can be applied directly to the
floor and wiped up with a soft mop.
We recommend
cleaners made by flooring or polyurethane
manufacturers over those made by cleaning
product manufacturers. It is important to
check labels to make sure the cleaning
product you choose does not leave a dulling
residue. If you have any doubt we can help
you with any cleaning questions. Just call
or stop by our show room. We carry a full
line of Armstrong
cleaners and we can help you keep your
floors looking new.

floors in my
basement?

ranges as traditional hardwood flooring. Is
there any wood flooring that does not need
to be glued or stapled down? Yes, We do
